Westchester Corporate Cup 5k Summer Race July 22nd 2015 at the SUNY Purchase campus that will benefit the Westchester County Continuum of Care for the Homeless

White Plains, New York (July 20, 2015) – The Westchester Corporate Cup 5k Summer Race Series is holding its second race of the summer on the scenic perimeter road of the Purchase College, State University of New York campus. The race series is purely a not-for-profit venture conceived as a fun, after-work, team-building event for Westchester corporations and a chance for colleagues to network with people from other Westchester businesses while helping to raise money for a worthy local cause.Organized by Corporate Cup Races, Inc., the second of three weeknight races will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd.  The third and last race this summer will be held on Wednesday, August 12th.  Each race will feature individual, men’s, women’s and co-ed corporate team competitions.  Runners can compete as individuals or as part of a team, but not both. Teams will be comprised of either three men, three women or a combination of two men and two women.The series, which is a nonprofit event, is being underwritten by entry fees and the sponsorship of seven companies with a strong presence in the Westchester County business community:  Heritage Realty Services, L.L.C., Dorian Drake International, Inc.; O’Connor Davies, LLP; Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management; Normandy Real Estate Partners, Citibank, N.A., and 1st Equity Title and Closing Services. All excess proceeds will go to the Westchester Continuum of Care, which provides shelter for Westchester’s homeless.

“These races offer participating companies a way to promote wellness and to get their folks together after work in  a fun, team-building environment,  “said Edward Dorian Jr., President of Dorian Drake International, Inc., a lead sponsor and promoter of the Corporate Cup races. “It’s also an opportunity for participants to network with individuals from other Westchester businesses and to raise money for a worthy local cause.”

Though promoted to local corporations, the events are open to all runners and walkers. Therefore, runners can compete as individuals or as part of a team, but not both. Teams are comprised of either three men, three women, or a combination of two men and two women.  You can have as many teams as you would like.  There will be free food, music, activities and the event offers a charitable component.

The races will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the starting line located by the entrance of the university’s gym. Onsite registration begins at5:00 PM.  There is free designated parking at lots 4 & 5.  There will be two water stations along the race route plus food and refreshments at the finish line, where provisions will be donated by Heritage Realty Services, LLC.

Each 5K race costs $35 per racer or walker for one race (early registration is $30 for one race, $50 for two races).

Corporate Cup Races, Inc. is a nonprofit event management company. They are an affiliate member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Through the RRCA, they are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. All proceeds from the race series are donated to charity.
